At Knomad, we are excited to show you how! Over the next several weeks, we’re giving an inside look into how our bare yarn is made. We’ll share tours of our spinning mills, special insight into our fibres and sourcing, and step-by-step videos of how our yarn is made and distributed all the way from the field to your hands. We’ll introduce you to some of the incredible people who help create our yarns! We can’t wait for you to meet them all.
Today, we’re meeting me, Gina Rockenwagner! I’m a knitter, designer and textile artist with over 10 years experience in the fibre industry. I work with Knomad on customer care and marketing. If you’ve ever emailed us at customercare@knomad.com, there’s a good chance I wrote you back! I am an experienced dyer who loves to talk textiles. If you ever have a question about dyeing, our yarns, or textiles in general, don’t hesitate to get in touch! I also create the content for this blog, and I love to take requests. Are there dyeing techniques you want to learn more about? Are you curious about our sourcing and how we develop new fibre blends? Whatever you wish to see on the pages of this blog, let us know! We’re always looking for new ideas for content to make and share, so your suggestions are appreciated.
I traveled to Peru at the end of 2019 to visit the people who make our yarn. I’m so excited to introduce you to them all in this series of videos! I know you will be amazed not only by the state of the art facilities that make our yarn, but also the skilled individuals we work with. Some of the people who work in our mill have been in the fibre industry for generations. They take immense pride in crafting a superior yarn for all our clients at Knomad. We hope you enjoy meeting them!.
